The key to ensuring the purity of syrup with syrup filter machine

Syrup is a commonly used raw material or product in many industries such as food, beverage, and pharmaceuticals. Syrup may be mixed with impurities during the production process, which requires a syrup filter to play a crucial role in ensuring the purity and quality of the syrup.

The working principle of syrup filter is based on multiple filtration mechanisms. Among them, the common ones are filter screen filtration and deep filtration. Filter filtration is the process of blocking larger particles and impurities in syrup through a filter with a specific pore size. These filters are usually made of corrosion-resistant materials such as stainless steel, which can withstand the viscosity of syrup and certain pressure. When the syrup flows through the filter, impurities larger than the pore size of the filter will be trapped on the surface of the filter, thus achieving preliminary filtration. For example, in some simple syrup production processes, filter screen filtration can quickly remove obvious impurities such as dust, undissolved solid raw material particles, etc.

Deep filtration is a more refined filtering method. Utilize the complex channels and pore structure inside the filter medium to filter out tiny impurities in syrup. Deep filtration media are typically porous structures composed of materials such as fibers and particles. When syrup slowly passes through these filter media, tiny impurities will be adsorbed or trapped inside the pores of the filter media. This filtration method is very effective in removing colloidal particles, microorganisms, and some small organic impurities from syrup. The syrup used in the pharmaceutical industry requires extremely high purity, making deep filtration particularly important.

There are various forms of syrup filters in structure to meet different production needs. Plate and frame filter is a traditional and widely used type. Composed of multiple frames, with filter screens or media sandwiched between them. The syrup is pumped into the space between the plates and frames and filtered under pressure. The advantage of this filter is that it has a large filtration area, can handle large flow rates of syrup, and has a stable filtration effect. However, there are also some drawbacks, such as the difficulty of cleaning, the need to disassemble the frame for cleaning, which consumes time and manpower.

Another type is the vacuum drum filter, which has a unique working process. The drum is partially immersed in the syrup tank, and the surface of the drum is covered with filter media. Create a vacuum environment inside the drum, allowing the syrup to be adsorbed on the surface of the drum and filtered through the filter medium. As the drum rotates, the filtered syrup is collected, while impurities remain on the surface of the drum and are scraped off by a scraper at specific locations. This type of filter is suitable for continuous production, with high filtration efficiency and relatively simple operation. However, it has high requirements for filtering media and may result in uneven filtration when dealing with high viscosity syrup.

In the actual production process, the operating parameters of the syrup filter have a significant impact on the filtration efficiency. The filtration pressure is a key parameter, and an appropriate filtration pressure can improve the filtration speed. However, excessive pressure may cause damage to the filtration medium or force some impurities in the syrup to pass through the filtration medium, affecting the filtration quality. Additionally, the temperature of the syrup can also affect the filtration efficiency. Generally speaking, increasing the temperature of syrup appropriately can reduce its viscosity, thereby increasing the filtration speed. However, excessively high temperature may affect the quality of syrup, such as causing sugar decomposition.

The maintenance of the syrup filter is also key to ensuring its long-term stable operation. Regular cleaning of the filter machine is essential. For filter screen filters, impurities on the surface of the filter screen should be removed in a timely manner to prevent excessive accumulation of impurities from affecting the filtration efficiency. For deep filtration machines, it is necessary to regularly replace the filter medium according to its service life to ensure the filtration effect. At the same time, it is necessary to inspect various components of the filter machine, such as whether the sealing parts are intact and to prevent syrup leakage.
